Education Law

Education Law

Education law encompasses a complex framework of federal and state laws governing the rights of students and the responsibilities of schools. School districts have legal teams. You deserve an experienced education attorney on your side.

At Broder Law Group, P.C., we represent K–12, college, university, and graduate students throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. We bring the strategic insight and legal knowledge needed to navigate an evolving legal landscape and complex educational challenges. Our team is committed to protecting your rights.

Our Areas of Expertise

Special Education & Due Process

Eligible students with disabilities are entitled to a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE). We guide families through the IDEA and Section 504 to secure evaluations, IEPs / 504 Plans, accommodations and modifications, appropriate placement, and to address district compliance failures.

Education Discrimination

Students have a right to equal educational access, free from discrimination, at every level of education. We handle discrimination claims based on disability and other protected characteristics under Section 504, the ADA, Title IX, and the NJLAD, pursuing relief through administrative processes, the Office for Civil Rights (OCR), or litigation. This includes discrimination and accommodation disputes at colleges, universities, and graduate and professional programs.

Student Rights & Discipline

Students facing suspension, expulsion, or other discipline deserve a fair process and a strong advocate. We represent K–12 students in disciplinary hearings, suspensions, and expulsions, including the added protections for students with disabilities. We also represent college, university, and graduate students in code of conduct proceedings, academic integrity and misconduct cases, dismissals, and appeals, working to protect your education, your record, and your future.

School Safety and Harassment

We address harassment, intimidation, and bullying (HIB) and other violations of student rights or denials of educational opportunities.
