Outside General Counsel Services

As business lawyers, our goal is to help clients plan for the future and minimize risk efficiently. The relationship we have with corporate clients is an ongoing one, and works best when we are involved in decision making before something goes wrong. Due to the consultative nature of this relationship, it is not uncommon for us to speak to our corporate clients on a weekly, if not daily basis. This varies greatly from a litigator, in that litigators only become involved when a problem arises. Our job is to prevent these problems from arising.

Many clients see the benefit of having an attorney on staff to handle the day-to-day legal affairs of the business, but understandably do not want to pay an attorney on a full-time basis. They also fear the idea of hiring outside counsel and being billed on an hourly basis for every phone call, e-mail, or letter. At Broder Law Group, P.C., we offer a solution to these clients in the form of Outside General Counsel Services.

Clients that would like the benefits of a corporate attorney relationship without the full-time salary or hourly rates have the option of retaining our firm through a monthly flat fee. The fee is paid in advance on a six-month basis and is reflective of the amount of service the client requires. Because our fee is paid in advance, we are able to offer Outside General Counsel clients a discount compared to what we charge if performing the same work on an hourly basis. These arrangements could cover anything from routine phone calls and e-mails to all of the client’s legal work. Clients opting for this type of arrangement are able to better manage legal costs, more likely to develop a better relationship with their attorney, and can avoid the surprise of a monthly legal bill.
